Blackberry-Plum-Banana Smoothie

We had a hankering for fruit smoothies this weekend. I got out the local, organic Santa Rosa plums and local blackberries from what I froze last summer. They joined two bananas in the Vita-Mix for a delicious blended treat.

2 bananas, ripe
2-1/2 cups frozen plums
2-1/2 cups frozen blackberries
2 tablespoons raw agave syrup or raw honey

Plum Sauce

Plum Sauce

This plum sauce is great atop Chocolate Ice Cream, on our favorite breakfast porridge, Genius Breakfast Cereal, or stirred into a bowl of kefir. It is not too sweet and really tasty!

Plum Pancakes — Gluten-Free

Plum Pancakes

2 cups buckwheat flour
2 cups brown rice flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
10 medium size plums — washed, pitted and pureed
2 cups nut milk
2-3/4 cups filtered water
1/4 cup agave syrup
1/2 cup grapeseed oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
garnishes: non-hydrogenated margarine (such as Earth Balance), honey, agave, jam, plum [...]
