Raw Cow's Milk Ice Cream (and Little Waffles)

Raw Cow’s Milk Ice Cream (and Little Waffles)

By Wardeh on October 5, 2008

The friend who made waffles and soap with me the other day gave us a gallon of raw cow’s milk. Something we’ve never had before. Our consumption of it is a test of sorts, for at least Haniya and Jeff, who show milk allergies.
I have become a theoretical believer in the possibility that their allergies [...]

Peppermint Pattie Coconut Bark (and Almond Joy version)

Peppermint Pattie Coconut Bark (and Almond Joy version)

By Wardeh on March 18, 2008

This is a frozen coconut “candy” – but a candy that I eat before every meal! (At the time of this update 10/29/2009.) In the book “Eat Fat, Lose Fat,” by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig, the authors note that unrefined, virgin coconut oil provides “vital nourishment to every cell in your body…” but it also helps one feel satisfied, decreasing cravings and persistent hunger.

Strawberry Ice Cream

By Wardeh on July 31, 2007

We are having a 10th birthday party today for Haniya with 9 little friends. We started out having 3 boys over from a friends’ family. Their sister is getting married this Saturday and their family has so much wedding stuff to do that we thought we’d have the little guys over. So they came… along [...]

Chocolate Almond Joy Ice Cream

By Wardeh on July 26, 2007

The coconut milk makes for a creamy ice cream, which is hard to come by in non-dairy frozen desserts. It also adds a delicious coconut flavor. Other non-dairy milks can be substituted, but the ice cream will be less creamy, more icy, and harder when placed in the freezer.
Chocolate Almond Joy Ice Cream
non-dairy, naturally [...]

Pumpkin Ice Cream — Non-Dairy, Naturally Sweetened

By Wardeh on July 20, 2007

My kids will be home tomorrow and I want to have pumpkin and chocolate ice creams ready for a treat the first evening they’re back with us from their vacation at Gramm’as house.
I wanted to make Lori’s Pumpkin Ice Cream this morning. Once, when we lived nearby to her family, we went to her house [...]

Basic Chocolate Ice Cream (Coconut Milk)

By Wardeh on July 20, 2007

The coconut milk makes a creamy non-dairy ice cream, which is hard to come by in non-dairy frozen desserts. It also adds a delicious coconut flavor. Other non-dairy milks can be substituted, but the resulting ice cream will be icier, less creamy, and also harder when allowed to freeze in the freezer. The amount of [...]

Basic Vanilla Ice Cream (Coconut Milk)

By Wardeh on July 16, 2007

The reason this ice cream is creamy like dairy ice cream is because of using coconut milk (not light) as the milk base. The coconut milk gives the ice cream a great coconut flavor. Other non-dairy milks can be substituted for the coconut milk, but they will reduce the creaminess. In addition, they will also [...]
