Raw Pear Sauce, Raw Apple Sauce, For the Freezer

By Wardeh on September 11, 2008

We are getting a bunch of apples and pears today. They’re coming from our sweet local doctor and her husband, who have an abundance. They called last week to ask if we wanted some. Yes, we do! Jeff is going to pick them up in town today, as he’s there and I’m not.
Of course, we’ll [...]

Apple-Sweet Potato-Pumpkin Muffins: Date Sweetened, Gluten-Free, Egg-Free, Dairy-Free

By Wardeh on January 25, 2008

I’ve been playing around with my agave-sweetened muffins for awhile now to make them fruit-sweetened. We are using less and less agave these days and turning toward fruit for sweetening. These muffins are sweetened with date sugar and applesauce. This makes a BIG batch — can easily be halved. I like to make it big [...]

Date-Apple Bars — Gluten-Free

Apple Oat Casserole

By Wardeh on January 30, 2007

I have been making this for dessert off and on ever since my friend Vickilynn Haycraft found the recipe and tweaked it a bit. I usually do some tweaking of my own on it. We have it warm as a treat or snack. Pour some milk over the leftovers for a yummy breakfast.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

By Wardeh on September 19, 2006

Oatmeal weather again. I long ago stopped buying cold cereals because of the expense and started fixing hot cereals instead. We love having a warm tummy full of oatmeal. Usually I fix Decadent & Hearty Oatmeal, but this morning, I prepared Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal instead.

Apple Salad

By Wardeh on February 7, 2006

I ended up making this for the church dinner last Friday night. Then I had to make more on Saturday since it was so good!
Apple Salad
6 to 8 apples, cleaned and with the peel left on (I used Pink Lady apples)
1/4 cup lemon juice
