For today’s Real Food Quote Monday (RFQM), I’m quoting my husband, Jeff. We are working on a GNOWFGLINS project behind the scenes (which I will announce soon). This is what he wrote recently to answer an important question: Why GNOWFGLINS?

Real Food Quote Monday - "Enzyme Nutrition" by Dr. Edward Howell (third visit with him)

Real Food Quote Monday – “Enzyme Nutrition” by Dr. Edward Howell (third visit with him)

Every Monday, I pull out a meaningful quote from one of the great books or articles I’m reading and share it with you. This week’s quote (like in previous weeks) comes from “Enzyme Nutrition” by Dr. Edward Howell. I grabbed it to share with you while I was looking for information on which foods provide the most digestive enzymes. The significance of this is huge. If we would consume enough digestive enzymes, we free the body from doing so, and allow it to manufacture a full measure of disease-preventing metabolic enzymes.

Real Food Quote Monday – Grass-Fed Salad Bar

Every Monday, I pull out a meaningful quote from one of the great books or articles I’m reading (or re-reading) and share it with you. Last week, we talked about whether or not a small amount of grass-finishing was appropriate for grass-fed pastured herbivores such as cattle and sheep. I am open to continuing that discussion, but the quote I’ll share today is from the other side. I mean, really, the other side. The cow’s side.

Real Food Quote Monday – Calders (Scottish Oat Porridge Method)

This week’s Real Food Quote is from a Spring 2009 Wise Traditions article, “The Good Scot Diet.” I selected a fun quote that details a common Scottish breakfast porridge, calders. It not only sounds interesting to eat, but would be a real time saver, as it was made early in the week and eaten as the days went by.
