Dear Wardeh,
Have you looked at the cornbread recipe in "The Self-Healing Cookbook" by Kristina Turner? I think it's a very different approach from the usual, but I've found it very satisfying. It includes cooked millet and sesame oil, it's a bit sweet and very cornbready, though on the heavy side, not light and fluffy. It does call for a little bit of wheat or barley flour, so you'd still need to experiment. If you can't get a hold of the book, (which I recommend), I can send you the recipe. I'd prefer to send it to you by email because I'm unsure about copyright issues.
Best wishes,
Selvi

Monica,

The literature on Kombucha is very experiential and less scientific. For me, I had to work up to having 8 ounces per day because I got lightheaded. Now, I don't get lightheaded anymore. My husband drinks about 8 ounces three times a day and it has been very beneficial for his overall health. One thing to keep in mind is that the more you drink of K-Tea, the more water you should also drink. Because of the detox action of the K-Tea, you could get dehydrated if you're not careful.

So unfortunately, I can't confirm whether what they're doing is allowable or not. It certainly seems like a modest dosage. Their own bodies should tell them whether it is working for them or not.

I'm so glad I found this website! My in-laws drink this daily and I'm wondering how much of this tea can they actually drink. I know you mentioned something about drinking it throughout the day or with your breakfast, they only drink about 3 or 4 ozs. 2 times a day. Can they drink more than that?

You are so brave. Good for you. You won't believe this: I got a Lodge cast iron corn bread skillet today at Goodwill for 4.99. I was surprised because lesser (not good brand name) cast iron is normally at least $8 at my Goodwill. My original two skillets I use all the time were 50 cents each at a garage sale.

We are still enjoying our kombucha every day! Love, Mary

That's awesome Wardeh! That is an excellent deal.

I need to get more cast iron cookware. I love my stainless steel, but only have ONE cast iron skillet and it's too small for cooking for the whole family.

Jean, I make stuffing in bread loaf or casserole pans. Use broth for the liquid and it will taste just like it was cooked in the turkey. I'm sorry I didn't see your comment until just now. Somehow, email notification isn't working so I didn't know about your comment until today (Saturday).
