Raw Applesauce

A friend gave me a similar recipe last summer. Kids love this applesauce — what I love is that it is easy, raw and nutritious! You will need a Vita-Mix or other such heavy duty blender.
(choose organic ingredients)

about 4 apples, sweet variety such as Fuji
handful of raw almonds
handful of raisins
1 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
1 cup pure [...]

Chocolate Syrup

Last night we feasted on vanilla ice cream sundaes. This chocolate syrup is amazing, just incredible. Goopy, thick, drizzly, sweet, dark… It includes the healthiest forms of all ingredients, but still is an indulgence! Use it as a glaze, or make chocolate milk by mixing it with nut milk.
Chocolate Syrup
makes 2 cups

1 cup cocoa [...]

Fruit-Sweetened Cranberry Relish, Part 2

Making the Fruit-Sweetened Cranberry Relish today, I halved all the ingredients and made up a half batch in my food processor and the other half using the electric grinder attachment for the Bosch. I wanted to compare the methods and see which I preferred.
First, using the Bosch electric grinder attachment. I’ll include the pictures of [...]

Fruit-Sweetened Cranberry Relish

This is Monday’s recipe for the Baking Week we’re having at the T2CHK Message Board.
Today I am so excited to make this fruit-sweetened cranberry relish. My mom makes it every year and I have missed it. She has made it for so many people, who all love it.
It is really easy. You will need either [...]

Creamy Herb Salad Dressing

I haven’t had commercial ranch dressing in a long time, so I can’t say for sure whether this is like it. Well, that doesn’t matter anyway. This dressing is GOOD.

12 ounces silken tofu
3/4 cup filtered water
juice of one lemon
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill
1-1/2 teaspoons [...]

Plum Sauce

Using some gorgeous Santa Rosa plums, I made a plum sauce on Saturday. I intended it for on top of Chocolate Ice Cream, and we did have it that way, but I’ve also been serving it scooped on top of our favorite breakfast porridge — Genius Breakfast Cereal. This morning, I am going to serve [...]

Sunflower Seed Dressing — Dairy-Free

The next time we have this dressing, I would back off the water to about 1-1/2 cups. I feel that as written, this recipe results in too thin a dressing.

2 cups filtered water
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
3 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 [...]
