In fact, the children even call themselves farmers!

Meredith and Michael are homesteading on their city lot, raising vegetables, edible landscaping and even chickens — all in the city!

Today’s featured farm is Tierra Soul Urban Farm and Guesthouse, a tenth of an acre urban farm run by the Arias family, city-dwellers in Portland, Oregon. The farm and guesthouse are absolutely breathtaking! Come on in and see the gorgeous turn-of-the-century 1906 farmhouse!

Spellcast Farm

Today’s featured farm is Spellcast Farm a small diversified located in Catawba County, North Caroline. The farm is run by Michelle T. Barnard and Walter McSwain and has been in existence since 2008. They recently became the first Animal Welfare Approved farm for rabbits! They garden and raise goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, and rabbits. Many locals get to enjoy Spellcast farm “real food” through the farmer’s market. Come on in and visit their lovely farm.
