It might sound too good to be true, but it can be done. And in multiple flavors to boot!
Simply begin with the basic recipe (frozen fruit and dairy-free milk), and then it’s up to you. You’re limited only by your imagination and the ingredients in your cupboards. 😉
Serves 2. Easily doubled or tripled depending on size of food processor or blender.
- Place frozen fruit and sweetener in your food processor or blender. Keep in mind the sweetness of your frozen fruit, and your personal preference. I usually start with 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey OR a few drops of stevia. Some fruits, like bananas, may not need any sweetener at all.
- Then process, adding enough milk to keep things moving. Some fruits require more milk than others. Blenders will require more milk than a food processor.
- Finally, taste and adjust sweetener if necessary. Enjoy!
*Ginger Peach: 1½ cups frozen peaches + 3 tablespoons coconut milk + 1 tablespoon honey + ½ teaspoon grated fresh ginger
*Piña Colada: 1½ cups frozen pineapple + 3 tablespoons coconut milk + ½ tablespoon maple syrup + shredded coconut for topping
*Peanut Butter Banana: 2 frozen bananas + 2 tablespoons coconut milk + 1 heaping tablespoon peanut butter + 1 teaspoon honey
*Chocolate Cherry: 1½ cups frozen cherries + 3 tablespoons coconut milk + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder + 1 tablespoon honey
