Featured Posts from Last Week’s Submissions

We really enjoy reading your posts each week! Featured post bloggers, please grab the badge above and display it on your site! Link it to one of the host blogs’ posts for the specific week that you were featured.
Here are our picks from last week’s submissions. Thanks to all who participated — it is always hard to choose!

1. Two Herbal Teething Remedies Your Kids Will Love by The Holistic Mama. Two recipes to soothe the symptoms of teething. Both taste great so children don’t fight to take them.

2. Pear Walnut and Blue Cheese Tart by Allotment 2 Kitchen. This blogger shows us that seasonal fruits can be the cornerstone for satisfying fall dinners as well as desserts.

3. Video/Recipe: Homemade Ghee by Real Food Forager. Ghee is a great cooking oil that is easy to make, keeps well, and has a high smoke point.

4. Lose the Shoes and Keep Your Head Up by Laurel of Leaves. Lori introduces some great tips for barefoot and minimalist running.

5. Spinning a Yarn by An Austin Homestead Moved West. Miranda shows us her first attempts at spinning a yarn. Most Excellent!
Share Your Simple Lives Thursday Post
Bloggers, make a “Simple Lives Thursday” post on your own blog, then come back here to add your post to the linky box below the featured posts. If you don’t have a picture, feel free to download the Simple Lives Thursday banner (at top of post) and upload it using the script’s prompts (it is easy). Your post will appear on all five blogs!
Non-bloggers, feel free to add a comment here with any ideas or thoughts about simple living.
These are two simple guidelines for participation:
1. If linking real, traditional and simple recipes, please make sure all ingredients used are whole — such as whole grains, vegetables, legumes, meats, even sugar. In order to keep the integrity of “nourishing” food, we will delete any recipes that utilize processed, boxed foods. We are definitely not going to be ingredient policemen! But, please note that this is a hop hosted by advocates of the real, local and sustainable food movements.
2. Please link your posts back to one of the hosting blogs. This is a common blog hop courtesy. This link helps build the Simple Lives Thursday community by sending your readers to all of the other participants’ posts. We all end up sharing and learning from each other.
What will you share this week? We all look forward to your submissions!

I am so disappointed! I tried (as did a lot of other folks) to get in on the Culture Dairy at Home video and emailed you to get the rerun and no one has even answered my email and apparently others haven’t heard from you either.
So what is up? Are you no longer making the video available?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Betty — The email with the replay went out early last week. Did you check your spam/junk folder to see if the email went there? In any case, I’ll send you another email with the link shortly.
I’m sharing about our journey over the past two years from rental, to fifth wheel, to mini ranch and the gracious goodness God has provided. Also, I absolutely love the posts you highlighted from last week. I’m going to dive right into reach of them. Thanks for faithfully hosting SLT, it’s been an encouraging breath of fresh air over the past year.

Hi Wardee,
Thankd for hosting this wonderful blog hop. I shared two posts. One on a terrific recipe for mango ice cream. It’s very simple to make and it’s great for those of us who don’t have an ice cream machine. The other post was on my last supper before starting the GAPS diet. It includes a super simple recipe for homemade ketchup.
