Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods + Giveaway

Wishing you knew what foods are best for you and baby? Wonder no more. Following on the heels of her first eBook, Real Food Basics, Kate from Modern Alternative Mama recently released a second. The topic? Definitely near and dear to all our hearts: Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods.

I wish I’d had Kate’s book when I was pregnant with even one of my three children. Instead of overwhelming pregnant moms with complex diet recommendations, Kate takes a simpler approach. She recommends that women focus on getting nutrient-dense super foods in every bite. Her delicious recipes maximize that. Plus, she shares information about the very best supplements (no magic pills here) and support for morning sickness and breastfeeding.

Even if you’re not expecting, eating super foods is a good idea. Wouldn’t you agree? Head over to this page to check out what’s included in the ebook, like a list of super foods, snack ideas, and many recipes! Doesn’t the salmon noodle casserole sound good?

I highly recommend this book! It packs a great deal of simple information and super food recipes into 72 pages for just $8.95. Kate’s allowing me to give away two copies. I’ll give one away here on the blog, and give the other away on the GNOWFGLINS Facebook page.

Ready to purchase it now? I don’t blame you. ;) Click here.

  9. Wow, what a great resource!
My husband and I discovered traditional eating last fall and our health has greatly improved after years of searching for the truth about food and the best way for us to eat.
Since then I have been creating reacipes and food making galore.
I have discovered a passion and our life has changed in more ways than planned – we actually enjoy cooking and eating together more than going out to eat!

We will be starting our family soon and this book looks like a fabulous piece to the puzzle of our new wholesome life. :D

I talk to women every single day that are expecting twins, triplets or quads. I love to offer them food advice. I would like to read this book so I can then recommend it to my Mothers of Multiples!

  13. Hi Wardee,

My name is Karen Benedict, my family is now from the mountains of Idaho. The Willamette Valley of Oregon was my home since age 2. In studying your websites, blogs, and the fundamentals of GNOWFGLINS, I feel like we already know one another. We share many of the same morals, skills, and beauty in being at home! Quilting and stitchery are two of my craft loves, herbs and gardening are my outside favorites, I have desires for the chickens & goats, but it hasn’t been the right time yet. Raising 8 children in these creative economic times is my full time job. I have tried my hand at several home-based businesses, but I know my higher calling is coming at me in the form of Midwifery. All the pieces of my life puzzle are pointing me in this journey, and I will be attending the Midwifery Today Conference in Eugene, OR this coming March and April. In finding this particular ebook, I anticipate it being a part of my Midwife Bag to hand to soon to be new mothers. I have actually been looking for the connection between my Super Food learning and the how and who I share it with, so I am thankful for catching a “glimpse” into this tool, working with what you are already teaching me through GNOWFGLINS, all at the same time! YAY…

“I look to the Lord and to His strength, I seek His face always!” Psalm 105.4 has caught my attention this week.

PS I soaked my first batch of Almonds last weekend, it was an amazing difference in taste and consumption, for me and my whole family! :)

    Most sincerely,

    Karen Benedict

  14. Maryellen says:

  15. I just found out I am pregnant with # 3 and would love to have this as a tool during my pregnancy! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  16. I am 12 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby, in 3 1/2 years ( I have a 2 year old daughter, 1 year old son, a miscarriage last summer and now this new blessing). I have thyroid problems that compound my lack of energy during pregnancy, and this would be invaluable in helping me. I would love some ideas to help me with breastfeeding as well, as I was unable to with the last 2 and want desperately to overcome my low milk supply problems. Thanks so much!

  17. I’m pregnant with our 3rd and hoping for a VBA2C. I know nutrition plays an important part in achieving that. I’ve also been trying to eat more TF over that last year to help improve my health. After a long struggle I’ve been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. While the G.I. says diet plays no part in the disease I have felt the difference diet can make. I hope this summer brings us a healthy VBAC baby and continued improvement in my own health- maybe this book can help with both of those!
Thanks for the great site Wardee. It and your ecourse has been a great resource on our journey.

  22. I would love to get this book! Would really help me out to know how to eat better, especially during pregnancy!

  23. My sister just got pregnant and she is less steeped in this sort of stuff than I am so I would give the eBook to her.

  24. Michelle B says:

I would love to get this book, both so I can read it myself, I am breastfeeding my second, and so that I can share it with my sister. She is pregnant with her first and I suggested Real Food, Real Baby and she seems open to real food.

  25. My sisters ask me questions about nutrition and pregnancy. I’d love more info so I can give better answers. :)

  26. Would love to have a copy of that book! I am breastfeeding our first right now, and will eventually be having more children. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
