Hi Wardeh….glad to take part. Love this new idea for a blog hop.
Got one question……..it says above to Get the code…then says to copy / paste it into your blog post. It’s not working at all to do that, won’t copy. As far as I can tell it’s not on my end. I’ve tried multiple times. And could you explain better what is it for?

    Piper is ADORABLE!!!

Okay, so a few years ago, I found out about “The Compact.” It’s a bit over the top, and refuses to buy ANYTHING new (foodstuffs excepted, of course) for one year. Yep, for some, that even meant toilet tissue… I won’t get into the gory details, but I did come away with a new attitude on “single-use” items. I found some of my old sheets that didn’t fit or had holes in them (you know, the ones you save for when company is NOT coming over?) and ripped them all into approximately 1 foot squares. Voila, we haven’t purchased paper napkins since then, and have only bought paper towels (granted, it was a family pack, so it has doubly-lasted) once in THREE YEARS. Funny, my Mimi just bought me a copy of Real Simple magazine, and their ideas to save money are to buy things on sale, etc. My idea is to buy less, period. Oh, and on the page opposite the article about where you can save on what you’re buying this month: an add by Scott, that says, “Do you know how many rolls of paper towels a family with 2.1 kids and a small dog uses per year?” hee hee hee… I can confidently answer: LESS THAN EIGHT!!!

Of note, when washing these, I highly recommend washing them by themselves for several washings. They ends will fray and ball and tangle up, and I just continue to rip this part off when I’m folding them. They will eventually fray to a cute fringe, and the effect is quite shabby chic. Don’t have any extra sheets floating around? When was the last time you visited ARC, Good Will, or Salvation Army? (Hmm… I think I’m due for a trip!) I got about 30 “napkins” for a buck the last time I went!
