Apple Salad

I revisited an old recipe this weekend – our easy and tasty apple salad, now including soaked/dehydrated nuts! This is wonderful to make when apples are in season.

Jeff’s parents visited us for the Mother’s Day weekend, and we served this salad for Mother’s Day breakfast. Jeff is the one who made it because I was busy doing other things. Click here to see the updated recipe.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I did. :D I’ll share tomorrow in the Tuesday Twister about the yummy meals we enjoyed this weekend with Jeff’s parents. Since today’s post is so short, I’ll add a family picture we took this weekend on our property.

Pictured (clockwise from top left): Haniya, me, Jeff, Naomi and Mikah.

How was your Mother’s Day? What did you eat? What did you do?

What a sweet picture of you & the family! :)

And the apple salad looks great! I will have to bring it to the next potluck @ church. I think it would go over very well!

What a beautiful family!! And I really love Pink Lady Apples – in fact, they had some at the store yesterday. Maybe it’s time for some Apple Salad. That goes along with my Tuesday Twister post that I am still frantically trying to post – it’s only 5:40 pm on Tuesday :-) . Thanks for linking back to an old post for us newbies!!
    Blessings -

    Wardeh!!!!!!!
Your family is just beautiful!!! Love the salad, too. I made a quinoa salad with avacado to go along with my tuna salad and Erin’s English Muffins for myself and hubby for mommy’s day. I will send in the recipe for the quinoa salad at some point. Don’t have time right now.
The other Connie………..where do you hail from?

    Wardeh,
We had the apple salad for part of our lunch today. It was really good and enjoyed by all. I get stuck in a rut – making more of a waldorf type apple salad. This was a very refreshing change of pace. Thanks!!

Hello, other Connie. I hail from the vast Texas prairie . . . and you?

My Mother’s Day meal was made by one of our sons and his wife. It included venison steak made on the grill. I am not a huge meat fan, but tried this because they made it…WOW…what a difference eating a meat from an animal that ate what God created it to eat. I guess I am not against meat, I am against the corn fed, hormone and antibiotic stuff in stores. Amazing.
