Erin – YES!!!
Hi Wardeh, Gary of GanderCo here.
We Tweeted earlier today about your “Guest” blog post thing. Although I’m a little on the shy side (Ok…Well, sometimes), I really do have a great story about how I one day decided to eat better in order to live longer for the sake of my children.
My health was starting to go down hill (I know this coz my Doctor tested my blood etc.)… health problems do not run in my family… I was simply not taking care of myself… I was having anxiety and depression etc…. My cholesterol was up, my Blood pressure was up, my sugar levels were up (diabetes does NOT run in my family), my Liver tests were going in a bad direction… and my tiny frame (meaning my small bone structure) of 130 lbs went up to 202 lbs! I was kinda FAT!
Long Story Short:
This scared the ___ out of me! So I decided to do whatever it takes to live to be 103 years old. I was not worried about being fat, I was worried about dying young, so I began to eat better and started DOING more stuff outside.
As a result (2.5 years later), I lost 60 lbs, and ALL of my Blood Tests and Liver Tests are back to their “Perfect” normal levels!
I guess I better stop and save the main details for the “Guest Post” should you decide to have me.
“Guest Post” or not, you’ll be seeing me comment here more often in the future

Gary – I think we all would love to hear more about how you took your health in hand for the sake of you children. I just emailed you. Thanks!
I second the “yes” votes for your three offers!! Thanks to everyone who is willing to share their experiences. We are new to much of this, attempting to take our former “healthy eating” patterns a giant leap forward. When we tried to remove sugar from our diets, use whole grains, etc in the past, everything tasted so awful my husband ordered me to “quit killing the family with health.” This time, it has been two months, and we are eating MUCH more happily! Thanks you so much to Wardeh for offering this course; we are very anxious to learn, and Nourishing Traditions was a little overwhelming to me at first read.
The only story I could relate would be how NOT to leave Kombucha a little longer so it will be even fizzier:-/ Granted, I left it wayyyyyy too long. And to make matters worse, I was out of town when it blew, and it took my husband and children a couple of days to figure out what that noise had been!! Fortunately, they were kind enough to clean it all up for me too:-)
Blessings, Pat
Ok, I’ll get right on it, but I DO want to leave one MAJOR tip here & now because it is very important (in my opinion).
(Note: Keep in mind that what I’m saying is only “MY” opinion based on “MY” personal experience. Although everyone is different, I personally believe this to be true and factual.
It’s more than just counting calories and portions and vitamins and….. etc. etc. Most Importantly it’s about your MindSet or State of Mind. It requires a change from deep within yourself.
If one can change their way of thinking from deep within, the rest will fall in place with the greatest of ease! (No Kidding!). Changing your “Mindset” is a “Truth” that is so simple and easy (once understood), that people can’t seem to believe it.
What is your motivation? This is important. I was “Motivated” into a different “Mindset” and seemingly by accident, it worked!
Hope I didn’t get too deep for a simple blog comment

Hey, I’m a weston a pricer who recently went on the GAPS diet. I’ve been recording all my GAPS friendly ideas. And of course they are yummy and super easy. Would that be of interest to anybody?
Tonya – This would be wonderful! Thank you!
Wardeh,
I would be happy to relate my experience of healing myself of Crohn’s disease, by changing my diet.
Anyone interested in that?
Tiffany – I am!
Please do share this.
Wardeh – Would you like any videos? I could do a video of a NT type recipe.
.-= tara´s last blog post… =-.
I hope to share something soon. Some off the topic comment – when does the course start?
Tara – that would be great!
Divina – I emailed you about the eCourse. And I’d love to have you share a post!
I would not feel comfortable writing about how to do something specific – I’m only really good at dairy kefir and sourdough (although I try to do other things
. But I am good at scheduling traditional cooking into large and busy home. Would that be interesting?
Connie – That would be WONDERFUL!
Hi there!!
I am new to the Nourishing Traditions- but I recently made Kvass- my husband suffers ( well, i suffer him more than he suffers I suppose) digestive issues. The recipe is chopped beets, whey, sea salt and water… very interesting combination. the taste is very strong initially- and surprisingly a lot saltier than I was expecting it to be. BUT after getting my husband to chug it 2x/day for a week- he as admitted to feeling better and not as plagued by his issues! definitely a tonic i will continue on using!
Jenny – That would be a wonderful post to share! Write up the recipe and what you do and any notes about it – take some pics. I’d love to share how you do this!
Hey Wardeh! My husband and I adopted our son, and I raised him on the baby formula recipe in the back of Nourishing Traditions. I wouldn’t mind blogging about that! That’s the one thing in the book I can do well…hahaha!
I have made the Grape Cooler and the Ginger Ale from NT. I loved them both. I am about to embark on Apple Cider and then the Orangina. Would you like a post of one of them? Or perhaps 4 posts as a drink series? I was going to do them for my blog but could do on yours first and duplicate or however it would work. LMK!
