You know what, I was really nervous about this. Blogging is one thing, being “live” is another. Know what I mean? But, this video recorded Skype call with Ann Marie @ CHEESESLAVE turned out well and more importantly, it was fun!
Ann Marie will put up the rest of our hour-long podcast soon – I’ll let you know when. But here is the video of the first 10 minutes of our Skype call, when we just got started talking. We chatted about my eCourse, about the food allergies that led my family to Nourishing Traditions, and even about my previous state of denial that we could eat better and feel better.
Go check out Ann Marie’s post – and see what this has to do with the 1989 Chinese student revolution!
This is just the tip of the iceberg. More will be in the podcast. And you can also read more about the food allergies that inspired us to get started in traditional cooking in my interview with Kimi Harris @ The Nourishing Gourmet.

Fun!! I enjoyed this segment. Can’t wait to hear the rest over at Cheeseslave.
I’m working on posting the podcast now — it will go up SOMETIME today!
Still writing the XML file — blech! Yeah, whatever that means! I’ll get this figured out eventually!
.-= Ann Marie @ CHEESESLAVEĀ“s last blog post… Slow Food Meets High Tech: Using the Internet to Teach Traditional Cooking =-.
Wardeh – I loved being the ‘fly on the wall’ for this interview you did with Ann Marie…
It was so nice to finally meet you Ann Marie, I’ve enjoyed visiting your website and reading how you got started in your journey toward healthful eating/living, as well as listening to other podcasts.
I’ve known about and used Skype for a few years now, helping my clients to host/stream meetings across the country – and now I’m so very excited to see Skype being utilized to promote all the benefits of Traditional Foods at your websites – very cool indeed!
I can’t wait until the rest of the interview/podcast is posted….great work ladies!
~Jami
Jami – Thank you for letting us do it at your house! I totally should have mentioned you and your generosity. Such a fun day – and rounding out the interview with your delectable grass-fed hamburgers was the icing on the cake!
Ann Marie – So sorry about the XML issues – whatever that means, I do not know – but I do know that you’ll figure it out!
Amy – Thanks!
I do not need mentioned in the least, Wardeh – your such a sweetie!
XML (Extensible Markup Language) is what your blog pages are written in.
Sounds like Ann Marie is working with her pages to maybe (just guessing) get something embedded to play podcasts on her pages instead of having them hosted by blog-talk-radio….?
If this is the case – I am looking forward to this, because I do not like the format used by BTR *grin*! If I can help at all you let me know….
Jami – Those are good thoughts, but I think it more has to do with a universal file format for working with movie and audio applications. That’s my guess, because all my applications on my MacBook have options for importing or exporting XML files. I’ve never had to work with them before. I’m sure she’ll figure it out! Perhaps we’re both wrong.
Oh yes, the ‘Mac’ factor…. he he he, I forgot about that!
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Ann Marie, you are too cute, very animated!
You both did a great job!
Have you two talked before? On the phone or another way? Just curious.
Marg – It was so fun! We have talked a few times on the phone before. But Ann Marie is so personable, I know it would have gone well even if it was the first time we spoke.
Oh, yeah… and the hour-long podcast is up now. I haven’t listened to it yet, but it is up: http://www.cheeseslave.com/2010/02/20/new-podcast-blogger-wardeh-harmon-teaches-traditional-food/
How fun was that! I am so visual and have followed you and AnnMarie for quite a while so it was wonderful to see and hear you both! Thanks!
Wardeh – I wanted to let you know we agonized over signing up for the e-course and it was at the top of my wish list. The hubby has been unemployed for over 10 months and we’ve had to be *very* careful with all expenditures. The very week of the e-course deadline he got an 8 week contract and we could at least consider it … but we decided that with things still being so uncertain we would take a chance that you would do another session when this one finished. So, PLEASE – plan to do Round Two in a couple of months!! Like you and AnnMarie both said – when you are first getting started, NT is very daunting . Although I have dabbled with quite a lot of new things I would still love to take your course. I hope things are going well for you with this and pray that I didn’t miss out
