Teresa -- We do still use it yes. It is the only supplement we buy. I think it is especially important in the winter when the grass is not green and our milk doesn't contain as much nutrition as during the height of the grass season.

Just in case this info helps someone out there, the naturopath I see recommends the blood type diet, and despite all the negative reports I've read from Dr. Mercola, and other sites following this diet has helped me recover from many illnesses including Colitis and irritable bowel syndrome and has helped my weight normalize to a healthy figure. I am an "O" blood type and used to take Cod Liver Oil, the fermented with butter oil mix, but I have stopped taking it since my naturopath said Cod Liver Oil only acts as a neutral food item for my blood type, and not as a beneficial medicine as it does for other blood types. It's too expensive for me and my family to continue to take, so it helped to hear this, maybe it will help you too.

Warden
Do you still use cod liver oil? It is a big expense for just the two of us and I am trying to cut back on expenses. I am curious to know since you have a family of 5 and you do so much fermenting. Thank you for all you do and I have rejoined the classes because I do think that expense is well worth it.

Fascinating! Doesn’t scare me off—but helps me understand why the stuff tastes so incredibly awful! If it weren't so good for us (I KNOW it has prevented us from illness this year!), I might, indeed, be scared off! :-)
