When Nothing Beats Simple

This is the simple kind of meal that nothing beats. And this is the response I get from my husband every time I serve this simple kind of meal: "Now this is how I like to eat." Well, that makes life easy! This is what he likes in a simple kind of meal: a fresh salad with creamy dressing and good cheese - a tasty, moist hunk of meat - and a piece of toasty toast. Simple. Good. Tasty. (Did you know there's a blog by that name?) This makes him happy." data-site="GNOWFGLINS">

My husband loves broiled fish and steamed veggies. Easy and quick! Dinner’s ready in 15 minutes!

Mark likes most anything that isn’t chicken. One meal sure to please him is fish that is grilled with lots of vegetables and served over lemon-pepper quinoa. I cook the quinoa in a rice cooker. I use a basket thingie to grill the fish/veggies and cut the veggies up small so they cook to crisp tender, quickly. Takes 20 minutes, tops.

I LOVE simple food. One of our standby dinners is fried eggs, brown rice with soy sauce and sauteed veggies. It’s cheap, nourishing and easy!

My Japanese ex-husband and I used to make brown rice, sprinkle seaweed on it, break a raw egg into it (now I just use the yolk since it is easier to digest) and drizzle it with tamari or Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. This was often breakfast or comfort food.

My husband adores bbq salmon and bbq summer veggies along with some kind of fresh salad and a nice truffle to top it off with. Yummmmm

My hubby is definitely a meat and potatoes (or rice) kind of guy. Roasted chicken with the juices over rice is one of his favorites. Also sliced potatoes, onions, garlic and seasoned chicken baked in a pan in the oven.

Jon likes simple also, and I gravitate towards fancy recipes. Simple is easier, and my husband would be happier, when will I learn this???

How many times did you have to record the video until you found one you liked? You seem very comfortable, just like it is when I talk to you.

Kelli – For many years Jeff told me that he wanted to eat fresh salad every day. I think it took me about 6 years to listen. :( We all have those lessons to learn!

I recorded myself about a dozen times. It was harder than I thought. I still want to do it over again! Thanks for the compliment.

  10. Oh I so agree that the simplest things are the best. I made a meatloaf last night my husband loves. It is very easy to prepare, it just takes time to cook. He wrote me a love note one time after I made it because he felt so much love from the food!
    thanks Wardeh!
