Refrigerator storage sans plastic: Use natural wax paper to cover bowls. Hold the paper in place with a rubber band stretched around the bowl on top of the paper. The wax paper helps preserve moisture. If not concerned with moisture loss, parchment paper can be used. Both types of paper can be reused again and again, and once they have no more life to give, can be tossed in the compost to decompose easily.
