Results of My Juice Fast

My allergies are no better, which was the stated goal of my going on a juice fast. That is a disappointment, but I have to say that I wasn’t expecting them to go away. Nor did I lose any weight. ;)

But the fast was not without benefits. I’m so glad I did it.

I enjoyed tremendously the days of focusing on raw fruits and vegetables. Almost everything I ate was refreshing (some things didn’t taste so good, due to my inexperience). It affirmed my desire to eat more and more fresh foods. We aren’t growing much of our own, other than sprouts and microgreens. We do have a freezer full of local, natural fruit. I long for the day when all our fresh produce (or most of it) will be right here for us to harvest and preserve. That will be so exciting!

So from here on out, I vow to eat more, and not less, of the fresh fruits and veggies we have available. This morning, I cut up a pineapple and a cantaloupe and I also made raw sweet potato cereal for breakfast. The kids were so happy with me. As a mom, I sure do love to please them!

    Hi Wardeh,

Perhaps I missed this, but how many days did you fast? I have done guided juice fasts in the past (5-7 days). As I recall any fasting over 2 days required enimas or colonic irrigation/colon hydrotherapy. The purpose of this was to assist the body in eliminating the toxins. It really does make a difference. I once set out to do a shorter fast (3 days) and thought I wouldn’t need the enima/colonic process for the shorter fast. I discovered I was wrong =)

I thought if you fasted for 3 or more days and did not utilize enima or colonics in your program – you may find different results if you include it next time.

Also, did you know there are liver flushes you can do at the end of your fasting that specifically help cleanse the liver? There is also a kidney flush. They are simple to do and can make a huge difference!

I know a wonderful Christian woman (Jeanette)who runs a wellness center in Montana. People travel from all over to do guided juice fasts with her. I have greatly enjoyed participating in many of her fasts – especially the Christian fasts! The following is a link to the website for Jeanette’s program. She is so kind and helpful and always willing to answer questions or help in any way.

I think it is wonderful you fasted and will pray for your allergies to be healed!!!

Cammie, thank you for your thoughts. My fast was only 2 days with just fruits and veggies raw. On the 3rd day I added whole grains. It was short.

I haven’t yet looked at the website you mentioned, but will soon. I love what you wrote about Jeanette and think it is wonderful that you’ve been able to benefit from her expertise!

Thanks again. I will keep in mind what you wrote for my next fast.

Cammie, well, I’m back soon because I went to look at the juicefast.info website. I was shocked to see that the clinic is in Kalispell! I grew up in Whitefish, the city next door. My parents still live there. I will ask my mom if she has ever heard of this clinic. I am forgetting where you live but I didn’t think it was there. Do you plan trips up there to do the guided fasts? Or do you go through it at home under her guidance, using the Fast to Go kit?

the flip side of not loosing weight is that the juice was so tasty otherwise it would have been easier;)

Hi Wardeh, I apologize for the delay in responding; I just now read your July 2 entry. WOW, you grew up in Whitefish…I graduated highschool there! Please forgive me for asking …what year did you graduate? Most of my family still lives in Montana (Kalispell, Whitefish, Glacier Park…) so we go there to spend time with family. I lived in Montana for almost a year in 2004-2005 and got into the fasts while living there. I know there are many people who request the kits be sent to them and do the fasts from their home. The fasts I participated in were done at home on an individual basis – while at the same time being part of the overall group that started and broke the fast together and met daily for several hours to learn and fellowship. It was great!

If you like, please e-mail me, so we can share more personal information to determine whether or not we may have known one another in Whitefish!

    Love and blessings,
    Cammie Grace

Hi, Cammie! I’ve taken too long to respond to you, I know. Well, I just finally sent you that email… :( Bad me!

  7. Hi Wardeh & Cammie!

I just came across your conversation while searching Google to find out how to get my website to show up on searches. I love your site Wardeh. We are educating our Juice Fast students on the benefits of everything as close to the way God made it and buy LOCAL!!!! We are so blessed in the Whitefish/Kalispell area to have so many farmers & markets & resources. Over 2000 people have done our program and we now offer “to go” fasts for those that can’t travel to join us. God bless your ministry & your family! Hugs from Montana! Jeanette Cheney

Hi, Jeanette! I am tickled that you found our little conversation! Wow on what your program is doing! I would like to do your program on the go someday. I think it is great that you offer it. God bless what you do and say hi to the Flathead for me!

How fun, is like a little reunion. Wardeh, thank you for your e-mail today regarding Jeanette’s comments here. Hi Jeanette…I agree the farmers markets there are awesome. Maddie and I really enjoy the Whitefish market – we had much fun there last month =) Our church is embarking upon a journey of fasting and I have thought of you many many times – how great it would be if you could be here to share with everyone what you are so gifted at. I personally would find one of your ‘to go’ fasts to be such a blessing right now =)

I am thrilled the two of you connected and hope your meeting brings forth exciting results! You both bring so many gifts and talents to the rest of us!

    Blessings upon you Both!
    Love,
    Cammie
