modified from a recipe in “Back to Basics”, a Reader’s Digest Book
- 4 lemons
- 1/2 to 1 cup honey (to taste)
- 1 quart boiling water
Wash and peel the lemons. Put the peels in a large bowl. Pour the honey and boiling water over the peels and let sit for 30 minutes, or until cooled off. This will release the lemon oil from the peels.
Meanwhile, juice the lemons.
When water-honey-peel mixture is cool, remove the peels. Pour the liquid into a pitcher or 1/2 gallon Mason jar. Add the lemon juice. Chill.

Amy, no, I haven’t tried green lemonade. It sounds delicious! We do have a Vita-Mix and we used to make green smoothies frequently. At the moment, we’re waiting to be able to grow our own greens before we go back to making them. In my recipes, I have a couple of green smoothie recipes.
My favorite lemonade
4-5 apples juiced
thin slice of lemon centimeter or less with rind- juiced in between some apples.
The rind has lemon oils that will give a super strong lemon taste to the apples.
This recipe came from a juice feasting program. It’s absolutely amazing.
Christopher – That sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing it.
