Some of us have a really hard time giving up coffee. One solution, either temporary or (in my case) permanent could be to switch to a healthy coffee. One option available today is coffee with ganoderma mushroom added. The caffeine content is negligible, and acid is neutralized by the mushroom. The mushroom had a zillion different antioxidants as well, so it really does boost health instead of damaging it.

After reading this post, I’m even more committed to healthful eating for myself and my family…we feel better when we eat better and I’m happy to see others doing the same. But, I’m curious…you mentioned that you and your family decided to take the healthful route all at once (we’re most assuredly baby stepping it)…I simply can’t visualize you with a Coke and Cheeze Doodles…how did you and the family eat before? What was your biggest hurdle?

:D You’re funny! We weren’t that bad with our diet, but it was definitely a conventional one. Cream soups, loads of dairy, nothing organic or natural, the cheapest meat we could buy, canned vegetables, snack foods and crackers, coffee, white sugar… that was us! The biggest hurdle… well, it honestly wasn’t too bad. We started feeling better so fast (and our son Mikah’s eczema totally disappeared) so we knew we were on the right track. We actually went vegan and whole foods at the very beginning of this journey. Several years later, we reintroduced meats, but natural meats. A big hurdle was missing the sweets and also missing meat. We were so glad to eat meat again. :D And foods didn’t taste that great at first, but I think that had to do more with my learning curve and changing our taste buds than with any limitations of the foods. After we adjusted, we began to relish the real flavor of good foods. (And, I learned better how to cook.)

Good article. :) I think we are doing pretty good, but could use some improvements. We like our chips and sweets, so we limit those to next to none. :D

We simply can not afford organic meats and veggies, but we try when possible.

    No MSG for us!
