Lisa -- Looks like you found a recipe that I need to update! I don't use agave anymore. I would use 2/3 to 3/4 the amount of honey. It is more sweet. I'm going to edit the recipe now.

For a blueberry muffin, I'd use my basic soaked muffins, but take out the spices and non-blueberry add-ins and use blueberries instead. :) http://gnowfglins.com/2009/11/04/basic-soaked-muffins/

We also have a basic muffin in the Sourdough eCourse ( http://gnowfglins.com/ecourse ), which you could adapt to blueberry.

Hi there! great website! May I ask what the substitute amount might be for using raw honey instead of agave in this recipe? equal? thanks! blessings, Lisa
Also, I'm looking for a good, simple blueberry muffin recipe (soaked flour, of course), without the spices. any thoughts?

Hello Wardeh. :D We made these muffins today with some minor alterations.

We used an egg instead of the flax + water. We used, for the nuts, a mixture I put together a while back, consisting of pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts and almonds. I chopped them up before adding them. We also added about half a cup of carob chips.

We are really enjoying these now! :D Have a wonderful rest of your day. Hugs, Robin

Yummy! I'm so glad you're enjoying them!

Wardeh,
Thank you for all of your help with the cleaning and soap issues I have. I keep trying to get on the Azure website (as we don't have one in Utah) but it is under construction. I will keep trying. The suggestions you gave me will be extremely helpful.
Can I ask where you buy your coconut oil? I would like to buy it in bulk. It is very expensive to get it in small containers.

How long have you been eating this way? Your children seem so willing to try and enjoy whatever you make.

We just changed our diet about 5 years ago, so my older children (13yrs and 9 yrs and I have a 4 yr old) do not always embrace the new and different foods. They often get what I consider "junk food" from grandparents, church and school, so then they want more. Do your children ever feel deprived from what "everyone else" is eating?

I would really like to see you write a cookbook, you are so inventive and it would help alot of people.

Thank you again for taking so much time out of your day to always answer me.
Love, Tiffany

I can either buy the coconut oil from Azure or from a local bulk wholesale supplier (that is where I usually get it). We've been eating this way for about 5 years, like you. It was a progression, though. I feel as though I've been learning the whole time. The first changes were the biggest. That was hard for some of them, but it took time and they adjusted. Since then, my children have embraced almost all of what we eat. Occasionally they will object, but that is not often. I do feel blessed by that. Sometimes I think they feel deprived, but only emotionally. In their minds, they know that what we're doing is best because we've talked about it so much that they're on board and they believe in our food choices. We, as a family, believe that we're honoring God by embracing food as He made it, not as man makes food. So if they are a teensy bit disappointed, they get over it quickly. Sometimes it bothers me that others around us act as if our children are missing out, but they're really not. Those others don't see things the way we do, and we learn from that, too. You are doing a great job with your family -- keep it up! I appreciate your kind compliments.
