Today’s recipe for Baking Week at T2CHK is a yummy Sweet Potato Casserole. I’ll be making mine tonight.
Yesterday at a thrift store, I found a deep dish stoneware casserole pan (Pampered Chef) for $4. I cleaned it up last night and began seasoning it with coconut oil. Its first use in my kitchen will be to bake a chicken for tonight’s dinner.

how do you season stuff like that?
You season it like you would cast iron. You either do it over time by cooking oily foods in it, or you apply a layer of oil and then bake it for a time at a low temp in the oven. I do about 20 minutes or so. (Not sure if that is the right amount, but it works for me.) Repeat by adding more oil and baking it again. Over time, the stoneware will develop its seasoning. Then you don’t wash it with soap, but you scrape bits of food off, rinse, dry and reapply a light layer of oil. You can pop it in the oven for another 20 minutes after baking in it to get it ready for the next time.
