Our hamburgers Friday night were delicious. I added finely diced onions, parsley, salt & pepper to the raw burger. Out of 2 pounds of 100% grass-fed local beef, I shaped 6 (1/3 pound each) patties. I baked them at 375 degrees for about a half hour on a broiler pan in the oven. We like them done so I took them out of the oven after cutting into the center of the biggest one to see if it was cooked through.
Jeff ate a whole burger, while I sliced the hamburgers in half horizontally for the rest of the 4 of us. So the 6 patties fed us on both Friday and Saturday nights, since we only needed 3 for each meal.
Haniya and Jeff requested their whole grain hamburger buns to be toasted and the rest of us had ours plain and soft. I spread Vegenaise and homemade ketchup on each bun. I topped the hamburger patties with raw goat cheddar cheese and onion slices sauteed in red palm oil. They were a hit. We’re ready for Friday to come round again.

Take the guesswork out of what to fix, what to buy and what to prepare. This week:

What recipe do you use for your homemade ketchup? I’m looking for a really good one…and hoping you have it!
Jamie – I do have a ketchup recipe. I’ll email it to you tomorrow.
As you know, since we just saw you, I’m around town today. Right now I’m at the library during the lull when the girls are having their piano lessons.Oops, wrong Jami.Even if I’m not the Jamie you just saw, will you still email it to me?
I WOULD love to meet you in real life though, someday, if we ever get to move “home” again. (We’re from Philomath/Corvallis, but my husband’s job currently has us living in TN, with another move farther east coming in the next year or so!)
Thankfully, I can make ketchup no matter where we live!
Jamie – Oh, oops! If I had looked at your email instead of just your name, I would have known that.
Yes, I will still email it to you! Thanks for being a good sport about my blooper!
